ThismousemonoclonalantibodywasgeneratedagainstplantactinACT8andrecognizesalltestedsubclassesofplantactins(arABIdopsisACT1,2,3,4,7,8,11,12)andDictyoseteliumactin.
ActinexistsasaubiquitousproteininvolvedwithfilamentformationthatmakeuplargeportionsoftheCytoskeleton.Actinfilamentsinteractwithmyosintoassistinmusclecontractionaswellasaidingincellmotilityandcytokinesis.Invertebratestherearethreegroupsofactinisoforms:alpha,betaandgamma.Thealphaactinsarefoundinmuscletissuesandareamajorconstituentofthecontractileapparatus.Thebetaandgammaactinsco-existsinmostcelltypesascomponentsofthecytoskeletonandasmediatorsofinternalcellmotility.
